Judy Mickelson
First Grade Teacher/Elementary Supervisor

 Judy is originally from Memphis, Tennessee, but has lived in Maine since 1982. She attended Lamburth University in Jackson, TN, and furthered her education through St. Joseph’s College in southern Maine, where she took the psychology of education and the psychology of learning. Judy has been teaching at WCA for the longest amount of all the staff members and has devoted her life to the education of young children. One of her main goals in education is to provide the freedom to learn in a safe, secure environment. Judy has also served as the Director of Children’s Ministries at Windham Assembly of God.

 

She is married to Roy Mickelson, WCA’s principal, and they have three children (all graduates of WCA). She enjoys visiting with her children whenever possible and spending time with her husband in the outdoors. Her hobbies include reading, camping and teaching. Also, during the 2004-2005 school year, Judy was voted "The Best Teacher in Windham" in a local newspaper opinion poll.
